The wife of the former manager of Chelsea Football Club has written a play based on the Russian tycoon Roman Abramovich.
According to Tzofit Grant, she had the chance to meet many people from Abramovich's world – from the drivers and servants to his close aides – when her husband Avram Grant worked as manager of Chelsea.
“There are rich, powerful men in the play, but, ultimately, the drama is about the women in that world,” explained Tzofit Grant. She hopes her play will be staged in the West End later this year.
An Israeli actress and former host of her own TV show “Milkshake”, Tzofit Grant is notorious for once drinking her own urine on live television as well as bathing in chocolate.
Speaking to the Sunday Telegraph, Grant was quoted as saying that Abramovich made a “critical mistake” when he fired Grant and was disappointed in him “as a friend, as a human being, as a Jew and as a football club owner”.
The 53-year-old Avram Grant had never previously managed a club in England and was often criticized for his team’s “poor performance”.
Disappointment grew when Chelsea lost to Manchester United in the Champions League final in Moscow in May 2008.
Avram Grant was fired by the Chelsea club owner after just eight months as manager.
A close friend of Roman Abramovich, Grant has reportedly received over $US 7 million as a pay-off.
