A donkey saved after being forced to parasail as part of a sick publicity stunt in Russia’s south has arrived at the Kremlin School of Riding. Here it will enjoy a month of “Tsar” treatment before finding a new home.
The mule, named Anapka, has been booked into the Kremlin's five-star stables to help her recover after her nightmare adventure, British newspaper The Sun previously reported.
The donkey will live in a separate room equipped with mirrors and air conditioning. Every day, she will be taken for a walk to sunbathe and adore the picturesque views.
In addition, Anapka will have a personal psychotherapist, helping the animal to recover after the hair-raising experience.
“Anapka will be treated at the highest level,” the stables’ director, Boris Petrov, was quoted as saying by The Sun. “It is an honor for us to take part in the poor donkey’s rehabilitation. We are eagerly awaiting Anapka at our stables – with all our love and hospitality.”
The donkey will live at the resort until it is allowed a trip to her permanent home. The Sun has bought the animal and now it is waiting for all the necessary documents to be drawn. According to the newspaper’s Gary O’Shea, the future fate of the animal is being decided at the moment.
“We are examining a lot of options here at the moment and that is true that Harry Rednapp, the manager of Tottenham Hotspur football club, has contacted us. Harry has an ambition to open his own animal sanctuary in the Hampshire area of England and he asked, perhaps, could Anapka join him at that animal sanctuary,” he said.
“We are going to take the guidance here at the people from the Kremlin school of riding as to what is in the best interests of Anapka and this is one of the finest equine facilities in the world. We are happy to take the experts’ view as to whether she should travel to England or rather she should perhaps have a home here, in Russia. All options are still open. Everything is being examined at the moment,” O’Shea added.
Anapka became an international star last month when a Russian leisure firm launched the poor donkey into the sky as part of an advertising stunt. The world was shocked by the firm’s employees’ cruelty. Animal rights activists from different countries voiced their concern over the donkey’s fate, among them actress Brigitte Bardot, who personally wrote to Russian President Dmitry Medvedev calling for justice, and Tottenham Hotspur coach Harry Redknapp, who offered to take care of Anapka.

That is absurd. I just can't belive what people a capeble to do...the animal had no joice for he can't speak so it's forced...poor creature. Good that there's still nice people who go and help these animals.

Glad to hear he's going to be ok. I was worried after the idiotic stunt they pulled with him. I see he was referred to as a donkey and a mule. They are two different animals. It appears to be a donkey.
