Aleksandr Ovechkin and his Washington Capitals hockey side have had their Stanley Cup dreams ended for the season after they lost in overtime in their deciding play-off match against Philadelphia.

60 minutes of play did not find the winner, with each side scoring twice.

In overtime Plilly skipped away to a 4-3 lead.

Ovechkin now is free to play for Russia at the upcoming World Championship in Canada.
