Another story is Google Inc.'s threat to shut down its China-based site over censorship and e-mail hacking. It alarmed the Chinese Internet-connected public that has tolerated a gap between rapid economic and technological progress and a closed, secretive political system.
And on a lighter, or rather “harder” note – people are really regretting not having been there on Thursday night for an unexpected adult content display right in downtown Moscow, where computer hackers made a giant electronic billboard display porn. Mobile phone camera footage of the incident has been posted on popular video-sharing websites. And city officials said that Moscow will bolster security of data transmission to ad screens.
