Guitar rhythms and drum beats rocked Moscow as Omar Torrez gave a gig at the stage of one of the capital’s most famous clubs – 16 Tons.
Torres, who won the Jimi Hendrix Guitar Competition at the prestigious Bumbershoot Festival, is considered one of the best young guitarists in the US.
And his arrival in Moscow is no coincidence as the heritage of the Seattle-born rocker, ranges from Spanish and Basque to Norwegian, Native American and Russian roots.
The music of this multidimensional artist is a rich cocktail of Cuban, Andalusian gypsy music and classical American rock’n’roll, which the audience at the club enjoyed to the last drop.
Torres was accompanied by a big local rock star – Aleksandr F. Sklyar, who was the lead singer of legendary Va-Bank band for several decades.
And there was real harmony between the duo, not only because they are both bald, but because they share the same passion for music.
