Two Norwegians have been arrested in Moscow after attempting to get into a restricted area of the city's subway. The pair wanted to spray-paint the carriages and have their photos taken beside them.
The two men, aged 21 and 24, planned to paint a dwarf from the 'Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs' fairy-tale. The idea was to photograph their work before posting it on the web, according to Russia's daily Komsomolskaya Pravda.
Several spray cans and a camera have been found in their bags.
Moscow police were forced to use interpreters in order to get explanations from the arrested men, who spoke no Russian.
They reportedly arrived at Moscow on July 21 but waited until July 25 before putting their plan into action. City police seized the pair at a depot connected to Pechatniki station.
The pair allegedly told officers that graffiti has been their hobby for seven years.
Both the Foreign Ministry and the Norwegian Embassy are being kept up to date about the case.
It’s believed the two trespassers will be deported from Russia and banned from entering again.
