Promising Russian film director, Andrey Libenson, has started shooting a Russian-style thriller called 'Gosudar', or the Master. The story is about a serial killer who murders a teenage girl every Wednesday.
The small town of Metallostroi in the Leningrad region has turned into a film set.The local people are terrified by the maniac's cruelty, and panic and terror start taking over. When 5 big trucks delivered tonnes of snow to the shooting site, residents of Shkolnaya Street called the city administration. They were not prepared for such actions in their peaceful hometown.“We have arranged everything with the town administration. They were very kind and supportive to us,” said Andrey Libenson, Director. One of the main characters, Aleksey Guskov, has decided not to use a stunt double and do all the tricky moves himself. His character is a police officer who comes to find and catch the murderer. By doing all the stunts himself, Guskov feels he really is fighting crime.“My character is interesting, he is obsessed. But his obsession is in the name justice,” he said.“Gosudar” is a psychological thriller, but the production company hints there will also be horror and blood to spice up the picture.
