McLaren Mercedes driver and last year’s Formula-1 championship runner-up Lewis Hamilton has visited Russia. RT’s correspondent caught up with him in Moscow.

The most successful debutant in the history of Formula 1, he became the youngest driver to ever lead the world championship.

Hamilton could have set another record in 2007 by becoming the youngest to win the world title.

But his efforts were cut short after he finished in seventh position at the Brazilian Grand Prix, giving the title to Kimi Raikonen.

However, Lewis Hamilton will try to win the championship for McLaren Mercedes at least until the end of the 2012 season after he signed a five-year multi-million-dollar contract with the team in January.

Before arriving in Moscow Lewis Hamilton knew nothing about Russia, except that it's a huge country that he really wanted to see.

During his brief visit to the Russian capital he promoted a new line of synthetic oils for a famous brand and found some time to talk on the upcoming season.
