Father Frost and his Ice Queen have their very own winter playground in the Russian capital. Moscow's freezing temperatures have made it possible for children to actually touch a fairy-tale.
A brand-new ice fort has been built in Sokolniki, one of Moscow's largest amusement parks.
It took more than a week to build, and now it is open for the young and the young at heart.
Nearly 60 tonnes of clear ice was delivered from the city of Perm in the Urals to build the palace.
Sliding off ice hills, skating on a rink and enjoying the exhibition of fairytale characters are likely to become a big hit for kids in Moscow's cold weather.
But it won't last long. Weather forecasts predict temperatures will go above zero by mid-January. But the project's authors say modern technology will allow them to preserve the sculptures till March.
