Moscow holds 20th Film Awards ceremony

The 20th annual Film Awards ceremony Nika has been held in the Russian capital. 16 gilt statuettes in the form of the Greek goddess of victory, named Nika, were presented at the ceremony.

Winners of the Nika Awards are chosen by a secret vote of the members of the Cinematography Academy.

For the last five years the President of the Academy was the prominent Russian Director, Eldar Ryazanov, but at this year's ceremony he delegated the Presidency to actor Aleksey Batalov.

Mr Ryazanov himself was awarded with a special prize entitled “Honour and dignity”.
