On his twitter blog he complained about "Duma truancy". Medvedev tweeted that “it is shameful to see empty chairs during parliamentary sessions.”
Shortly after his tweet, Medvedev delivered his message in person to the heads of the Duma parties.
Later, Duma speaker Boris Gryzlov announced that it will be made compulsory for Duma deputies to attend sessions.
This comes after a recent survey revealed that many MP's miss sessions and allow their colleagues to cast votes for them.
