A giant fire broke out on Wednesday at the Moscow offices of the firm responsible for creating Russia's advanced S-300 and S-400 air defense systems.
The fire started in the morning and spread across 18,000 square meters of premises.
The latest firefighting equipment – including the new K-32 helicopter – was used to put out the flames. It took just three hours to contain the blaze.
About 1,000 people were evacuated with no reported injuries. After the fire, the office resumed its work.
The firm is one of Russia's largest military exporters, boasting $4 billion annual profits.
An investigation has been ordered into the cause of the fire.
“Investigators are looking into the details of the accident. We are very interested in finding out why our enterprises are renting out these premises to various companies that have set up their offices in the building,” Oleg Mitvol, prefect of the northern district of Moscow, said.
Reportedly, the source of the fire was the roof, which was being repaired – allegedly, by immigrants who violated fire safety regulations.
