Poker fans dealt a winning hand

It’s official. Russia has recognised poker as a sport. The news comes shortly after a former maths student from Moscow scooped $5.8 million during the World Poker Series tournament in Las-Vegas.

The Poker Academy website covers the first-ever Man/Machine poker competition pitting a team of two Pro Poker players against the University of Alberta's advanced poker bot Polaris. The two-day event ended with humankind's triumph.
