Madonna mania in the Russian Capital

Tickets for the Russian leg of Madonna's “Confessions” tour have gone on sale in Moscow. The US pop sensation is expected to attract up to 40 thousand people.

But tickets are selling quickly. Fans queued from 6 am outside a Moscow ticket office, to pay between 50 and 2000 US dollars to see the Queen of Pop on September 11. The Russian Orthodox Church has criticised the American singer for using religious imagery at her Rome gig. The Moscow concert is being held at the city’s University.
