A couple in Cambodia would have embarrassed the wise judgement of Biblical Solomon. When their marriage ran aground, they’ve decided to split by literarily sawing their house in two.
The couple from the Prey Veng province had been married for 40 years and have two children. But it didn’t stop them from a separation that led them to splitting their house in two on Thursday, according to local media reports.
The chief of the commune they live in said their quarrel was about the husband feeling his wife had not cared for him well enough when he became ill.
They also divided their land between their children and themselves.
Local authorities say in the eyes of the law the two are still married despite their ‘divorce’.
