Made up of more than 100 dancers, they've performed in numerous international festivals and are famous worldwide.
The “Oiraty” group's repertoire features Kalmyk and Mongolian dances. Behind every move there’s a special meaning related to traditional beliefs – be it love, religion or nature. Thus, fluent hand moves in a circle are associated with the movement of the sun.
In their performances, the dancers use different weapons – bows, swords, knives – and train daily to master their skills.

Their costumes look just as they might have 300 years ago, with women wearing long wigs and traditional dresses, and men carrying weapons.
The “Oiraty” Dance Theatre has travelled the world, presenting the culture of the Kalmyk people.
