Opera superstar Jose Carreras has performed at Moscow's International House of Music. At his only concert, the Spanish tenor presented his new programme titled “Mediterranean Passion” that featured exclusively love songs from the operas by Puc
He was the one who once came back from the brink, after a long battle with leukemia.
He is the one whose dulcet intonation captivates audiences across the globe.
Jose Carreras has made his “Mediterranean Passion” programme a chamber performance, accompanied by the string ensemble “New Italian Quartet” and pianist Lorenzo Bavaja.
“In the last years we have performed several times with string quartet and piano, and I think it's a new approach,” commented Jose Carreras.
One of the Three Tenors, who are now diminished, and grieving the loss of the great Luciano Pavarotti, Jose Carreras is acclaimed not only for the way he sings, but also for his exceptional acting talent.
However, the elegant Spanish hidalgo’s interests have always gone beyond classical music.
“My dream as a boy was to be a center forward of the Barcelona team, but I think now it's too late,” Jose Carreras noted.
