Hydrogen bacteria to fill gas tanks?

A Russian-born scientist living in the U.S. state of Tennessee believes he may have found a solution to rising petrol costs – a cheap way to produce hydrogen.

If my high school chemistry serves me right, this process uses CO and H2O and results in CO2 and H2. Granted, H2 and O2 from the air results in power and H2O or water but the CO2 from the generator is hardly “Green” and the cost of disposing of it would raise the overall cost substantially.
