Heard them for several years with awe and delight. They made the whole building of Lowell House tremble and resounded throughout several miles surrounding Cambridge/Boston. Equally delighted that there should be replacements -- and since the 1930s Hvd houses are all "imitation" US colonial architecture, the replacements are apt. Nabokov and his son (at Lowell) and even Kerensky and others will have heard them at some point or other. Generous action on Hvd's part!
