Death and joy walk hand and hand in tonight’s Historama, remembering one of the deadliest terror attacks and one of the funniest flash mobs.
124 killed by blast in residential building
On this day in 1999 a bomb went off in a residential building in Moscow in the middle of the night.
The terrorist attack killed 124 people and destroyed the building.
The FSB claimed the blast was the responsibility of Chechen militants.
Most of the people linked to the crime were later killed in counter terrorist operations.
Two were detained and sentenced to life in prison.

Russian city smiles to the world
Today, back in 1736, the city of Chelyabinsk was founded in Russia.
Chelyabinsk is situated 1,700 kilometers east of Moscow in the Urals.
Life started buzzing in the area when the Trans-Siberian Line was built. In the end of the 19th Century, Chelyabinsk became the regional center of commerce.
In the beginning of the 21st century, Chelyabinsk smiled to the world.
A crowd of people wearing yellow T-shirts gathered in the city center and formed a giant happy face and went viral on the Internet.
