A new daredevil taxi service in Moscow promises to get passengers to their destinations at speed of up to 200 kilometers per hour.
That’s according to a promo video posted on YouTube by a new taxi company in the Russian capital, showing the cab driving down one of the busiest Moscow streets at extremely high speeds, leaving behind other cars and by chance avoiding collision.
The company providing the service employs stuntmen as drivers, Gazeta.ru online news outlet reported, which is why passengers should not be scared. The company representatives also said that clients do not even notice the high speeds, as all cars have air suspension, and passengers are provided health insurance coverage.
Even traffic jams are no longer a problem, the company says, since the taxi cabs are very big and scary (Range Rover or Porsche Cayenne) so nobody dares to stand in their way.
The ride in such taxis will costs about 5,000 rubles ($166).
Company representatives also boast that the police never stop their cars. However, Moscow traffic officials said this is impossible as everyone is equal on the road and must follow the traffic rules. They added that they have never seen such a taxi and the company’s declarations are nothing more than a promotional stunt.
According to Russian traffic rules, the maximum speed allowed is 110 kilometers per hour on highways, 90 on public roads and 60 in residential areas.
