She won the hearts of people in Georgia, Russia and other post-Soviet countries, as well as in Europe with her unique sound and mood. Georgian jazz star Nino Katamadze returns to Moscow with three concerts.

Katamadze prepared something fresh for her fans in the capital. This time it will be songs from her upcoming album “Red,” which is expected to be released only in September 2010. “Red” will continue the “color line” of her albums: Blue” (2007), “Black” and “White” (2006), made together with the band Insight – guitarist Gocha Kacheishvili, bass-guitarist Ucha Gugunava and drummer David Abuladze.

Katamadze’s side gig as a singer with Insight began in 1999. Together they recorded five albums, with their style being a mix of a jazz, blues and world music. The Georgian singer loves Russian audiences no less than they love her, which brings her to the Russian capital regularly, despite all political tensions between the countries – her last major concert took place as part of the Usadba.Jazz festival in Moscow.

“Of course there are questions that bother me and are painful to me, as I live in Georgia,” Nino told RT last summer. “In my head I can still hear the sounds of planes flying over the city while I was at home with my little son. But I try to stand above that and to continue living truthfully and to help myself to be true. I need to be strong to fight bad people.”

In September of last year, despite the Georgian-Ossetian war, she also visited Moscow’s Gorky Academic Art Theater to promote “Blue.”

After the tragic events of August 2008, she had certain doubts about her upcoming gigs in Moscow, but her love for Russian audiences made her overcome all difficulties.

To listen to the music of peace and love, come to Moscow’s Gorky Academic Art Theater on December 8, 9 or 11.
