The folk music festival “Ethnosphere” has attracted many ethnic music lovers in Russia. The previous festivals had attracted a small audience, compared to the full house in Vladimir Nazarov's theatre.
This event is already the third “Ethnosphere” festival.Prominent composer Maksim Dunaevsky who was among the audience gave his opinion on future developments in Russian ethnic music.“I think it's a question of time. Of course it requires some attention – but this is not pop music, so it's impossible to use force. Still, I think a little time will pass and this music will integrate into all kinds of modern music,” he noticed. The festival aims to preserve the national traditions of Russian music. The concert programme originates from a jazz festival held last autumn in the Russian city of Nizhni Novgorod. There it was only a part of a larger event and now its modified version has been given a separate venue. But the holiday for folk music lovers didn't end with the end of the festival. In spring, an event of the same kind but featuring international artists is already planned.
