Fiery Colombian music in Russia

The fiery rhythms and motifs of Colombian music has come to Russia as violinist Mauricio Gonzales and conductor German Cespedes performed their first and only concert in Moscow.

The Colombian Symphonic Orchestra conducted by maestro Cespedes opened with a performance of “Little suite”. The composition was created in 1938 especially to celebrate the jubilee of the Colombian capital Bogota.

With its mixture of Spanish and African rhythms with Indian motifs “Little suite” was the first Colombian symphonic composition, that became popular worldwide.
