Anna Stepanova, a saxophonist from the Ukrainian city of Odessa, is on tour in Moscow. This musician likes to shock the public by performing Glinka and Paganini at the beginning of her shows and end with Stevie Wonder's popular hits.
Ms Stepanova seems to be a very productive musician – she has got the time to tour different countries, to organise music festivals in her motherland and to teach children how to play the saxophone at the Odessa Music School. Her teacher Margarita Shaposhnikova, who is known as “the founder of the Russian saxophone school”, was also among the audience at Anna Stepanova's Moscow performance.Ms Shaposhnikova expressed her view that the modern Russian public definitely needs a saxophonist like her ex-student Stepanova, who can perform in different musical styles but with the same passion.
