A festival of Dutch animation has taken place at one of Moscow's cinemas.  Dutch animators brought to Moscow their best works. The event was linked to the celebration of the Queen Beatrix of Netherlands's birthday.

The festival has opened with the animated movie “Father and daughter” which scooped a number of international awards.  The event also featured a wide range of movies made by both well-known directors and young avant-guard artists. While creating the movies, many of them were inspired by the creations of the world-famous artists like Salvador Dali.  Another one tried to use images similar to Rodin's sculptures and Michelangelo's frescoes. Russian arts critics claim that Dutch animation traditions are very distinct and really worth seeing.
