Legendary actor, film director and artist Dennis Hopper is in Moscow to present a photography exhibition at the city's Manezh Gallery.
It's the opening of his first ever photography exhibition in Russia.
The Manezh Gallery seemed overcrowded as everyone wanted to see the star of films like “Easy Rider” in the flesh.
“I'm very rarely offered a good guy to play, but right now I am playing in Kevin Costner's movie, and I'm playing a Democratic presidential nominee, who is a good guy, I think,” he said.
Hopper started to take pictures in the 1960s after a fire destroyed all the paintings in his L.A. house. There was also another reason to go mad on photography.
“I had a lot of spare time. As an actor I could not get work, nor as a director. So the photography was the creative part of my life,” confessed Hopper.
So, but for Hopper's temporary misfortune, the world would not know Dennis Hopper as a great photographer.
The exhibition, which traces 40 years of Hopper's career as a photographer, will run in Moscow until October 7.
