Inter Milan have signed midfielder Daniel Carvalho, who helped CSKA to the 2005 UEFA Cup title. The Italian champions plan to send the Brazilian on loan to low-key Serie A sides.

The 24-year-old Brazilian will join Inter on a 5 year contract. However, Carvalho will most probably spend his first year in Serie A on loan at Parma or Empoli.

Carvalho has been one of their key players since joining the club in 2004 from Brazil's Sport Club Internacional.

Three crucial passes by Carvalho sealed the 2005 trophy, leading to Carvalho being voted Russian Footballer of the Year.

But he played just four matches in the Premier League last season because of a thigh injury.
