A concert in Moscow has marked the anniversary of the famous Russian conductor Veronika Dudarova, who critics say embodies the whole era of the nation's modern music.

She's been working at the conductor's stand for the last 60 years and is still holding the conductor's baton as she enters her 90s.

Everyone gets ready for a birthday party in different ways, but for Veronika Dudarova it means conducting Russia's symphony orchestra.

Dudarova was born in Baku. She was a student of internationally renowned Austrian conductor Stefan Strasse. He taught her a lot, first of all how to survive in a man's world. Dudarova won the battle, and every time she performs as a conductor the house is full.
