Russia's number one tennis player Maria Sharapova has failed to record her first tournament win of the year. She has lost in the final of the Watsons Water Challenge to Belgium’s Kim Clijsters.
For Clijsters it is a great start in what is her final season after she announced she would retire at the end of 2007.She took the match in straight sets.Sharapova produced many fine passing shots, but Clijsters proved too strong as she won 6-3 7-6.
