Darwin’s theory of evolution has been called into question yet again. A simple screen test conducted by Japanese scientists showed that chimpanzees think faster than humans.
Japanese researchers testing the memory of young chimps against human adults suggests we may have got the theory of evolution the wrong way round.
They set up a simple test. The challenge was to touch a set of squares in a number order that had previously been given. Results showed that while the chimps were no more accurate than humans, they worked faster.
Even after six months training, three of the students failed to match the peformance of the three young chimps in the test.
