Freezes, floats, drops, scissors, shuffles and pumps… Russian b-boys and b-girls have been polishing their break-dance moves and skills for months to take part in the 10th festival of breakdance.
The so called “SLIFKI Battle” is held in the city of Nizhny Novgorod, 400 kilometers northeast of Moscow and features breakdancers from all across the country.
With the growing popularity of breakdance, the festival helps Russian dancers go global.

The 25-year-old Italian B-boy is praised for his air flare combinations and the so-called “1990ers”, where he spins in a one-armed handstand.
CICO, whose dance philosophy is “As I dance, it is as if I scream to make myself heard and feel alive” will choose the winner of the Russian battle on September 5.
