CSKA Moscow look set to drop out at the group stages of the Champions League for a second successive year after the army men threw away a first half lead against Inter Milan in Moscow on Tuesday.
The final score at the Lokomotiv stadium was 2-1 to the visitors.
A wonderful goal from Brazilian international Jo just after the half hour mark had the home fans dancing in the stands.
But they came back to earth with a bump seven minutes into the second half. Awful defending allowed Hernan Crespo to fire home.
The party was then well and truly gatecrashed on 80 minutes by the Italian champions. CSKA goalkeeper Veniamin Mandrykin made an absolute hash of Walter Samuel's weak header, fumbling into his own net.
The loss left the Russian side’s prospects of qualifying for the Champions League's last 16 in serious doubt.
