Sincerity and naiveté from Ukrainian designer

The latest collection from Liliya Poustovit continues the traditions of the brand. The Ukrainian designer pays most attention to femininity and romanticism, this time inspired by the 1950s.

Yana and Anastasia Shevchenko's YanaStasia design duo havepresented their first catwalk show at Russian Fashion Week. The collection alluded to Russian traditional Pavlovo Posad woolen shawls.

Everything from swimsuits to winter boots was presented at RFW by professional dancers, who turned the display into a real show.

As for the colors – here even the biggest fan of bright combinations was sometimes dazzled by the abundance of motley colors. Using the original Pavlovo Posad scarves and their traditional ornaments, the young designers have created literally one of the brightest collections the catwalks have ever seen. Traditional bright Russian floral ornaments on acid pink, bright orange, lime green and yellow backgrounds made the outfits look as if they were drawn with a point-marker.

Add to all this extremely bright makeup and artificial colored braids attached to the models’ hair and you get a firework of colors and emotions…however quite controversial.

Bathing suits, jumpsuits, shorts, dresses, and tunic-dresses – yes of course, this is summer. But most people will hardly wear such bright outfits in a city like Moscow. Some elements would still fit quite well here – boots, vests or mittens for example. Though it is still unclear why those items are displayed within spring/summer collection.

Certainly a daring collection from Yana and Anastasia Shevchenko.
