Beauty queen to change Russia’s image abroad

The Russian winner of the Miss World beauty contest says she’s determined to challenge the West’s view that Russia is an ‘aggressive’ country.
Ksenia Sukhinova says she’ll show through her actions that a Russian woman can be “an example of kindness, beauty and happiness.”
Sukhinova made her pledge while visiting a children’s home in Moscow, where she handed out presents to disadvantaged kids, many of whose parents are either in prison or are alcoholics.
Miss World will continue her humanitarian tour by visiting Asian countries next year.
The Siberian beauty queen won the Miss World 2008 pageant in South Africa on December 13.
