Barcelona have decided to give up the idea of buying Russian international Andrey Arshavin. According to the Russian Sport-Express newspaper, the Catalan club and Zenit St Petersburg, where one of the biggest stars of Eu
Barcelona were ready to pay € 15 million for the striker, which is a lot lower than Zenit wanted. They value the player at somewhere between € 20 million and € 25 million.
Arshavin has always said that playing for Barcelona has been his dream since childhood.
Arshavin missed his club’s clash with FC Tom on Sunday. As manager Dick Advocaat said, the forward won’t play until he confirms his future plans.
Zenit’s press-service says the club has not received firm offers from any other clubs, but rumour has it that Chelsea’s owner, Roman Abramovich, is interested in seeing his compatriot in the Londoners' squad.
