An inquiry has been launched in Turkey after the release of a video showing a man charged with the killing of a Turkish-Armenian journalist, Hrant Dink, posing with police and the national flag.

The footage shows 17-year-old Ogun Samast holding the Turkish flag while uniformed police pose with him.

A police spokesperson said everything will be done to identify who took the video and how it was leaked.

Turkish media say the images suggest the teenager has been treated like a hero.

Samast is accused of killing Hrant Dink, who was shot dead outside his newspaper offices in Istanbul on January 19.

The 53-year-old was well-known for writing about the mass killings of Armenians by Turks during the World War I.
