Poland mourns bus crash victims

Polish President Lech Kaczynski has declared a national day of mourning after 26 Polish people died and 24 more were injured in a bus crash in the French Alps. The travellers were on a pilgrimage.

The bus skidded out of control when it was returning from the Roman Catholic shrine of Notre Dame de la Salette.

The Polish President has flown to Grenonbles to pay his respect.

He described the accident as one of the most serious in recent times.
