What has the Catholic Church done to ensure that their sexual preditors are being punished severely. Crimes by adults {claiming to be religious} against small helpless children is so terrible that the death prnalty should be considered and possibly be made mandatory. Like war criminals, they should have no where to hide. Perhaps a crimes against humanity law should be implemented worldwide to deal with this scum. A preist who molests a young boy is not a preist. He is a depraved animal, criminal and deserves absolutely no mercy. Give them the maximum punishment ten times over.

The sentence should be death. One pedo = one bullet. If the re-offense rate is close to 100%, why are these people allowed to live? Every judge, jury, and lawyer who releases these monsters back on the streets is just as guilty. What ever happened to moral outrage at this aberrant behavior? Now we are expected to "tolerate" every sickness and perversion?

Why such a lenient sentence? These predators should be neutered chemically and then have their penis replaced by a plastic tube. The Catholic church should set an example and be the first ones to start snipping. These pedophiles are monster of our society.

The Vatican has done nothing but could start by (1) requiring priests and nuns to have a spouse -- I really don't understand why we're missing out on the predatory lesbians here and (2) raising the age of consent in the Vatican State from 12 years (!) to some more reasonable figure like 16 or 18. 2. Sex tourism surveys find two sorts of "pedophiles": (1) the opportunist visitor to a country who tries it simply because and (2) the visitor with fixation on children. Extraterritorial legislation of the sort adopted in Europe and North America has been reasonably effective, but the second sort simply moves on to the next dollar-a-day wage country. Last I heard a decade or so ago, there was no effective treatment for this second sort. Given that children are prostituted as early as age six months, some of these men must have microsized organs. Chemical sterilization? If it works and spares children from traumatizing experiences, I'm for it. Protecting the vulnerable is a duty. But what to do about the women? They account for 40% of sex tourists, both straight and gay -- that's another can of worms.
