The only way the Russian government can help the Pakistani government fight the terrorism , get the American out of Pakistan. and the will be the end of suicide bomber and everything will be fine.

I agree with Greg. Russia is a major power player in this region and needs play more important role. Since the Pakistan public is fed up with American activities it is a right time for Russia to get involved and help Pakistan. But again, India will not like this approach. It has its own objective.

As I like to agree with Greg to some degree. The presence of the USA is a destabilizing force in the area and a major reason for recruitment of terrorists, but Pakistan has to shoulder a good amount of blame. How on earth can a country have vast areas of a country with no government presence and rule by tribal law.You cant have a better heaven for extremists and terrorist.

I absolutely agree with Greg Durbauree, there is no Osama or al-qaeda just excuse and tool to stay in Afghanistan and Pakistan. They want to catch nuclear project and Dr. Qadeer who made it. CIA and Blackwater generator suicide bomber and remote control bomber… may time local police caught Blackwater agents with fake number plate and fully loaded guns….

The terrorists present a far greater threat to Russia than to the United States. If Americans ended their fight against TERRORISM this would leave Russia more vulnerable than ever. The action would shift over to Russia and terrorism would become an ongoing greater threat to Russian targets. Russia is extremely vulnerable because of the huge muslim population in Russia. There is no choice for Russia. The terrorists are not in love with the Russian people. Russia has to either fight the terrorists now while the iron is hot, or possibly later have to go it alone. America will not carry the blunt of the fighting against terrorism indefinitely.

Those who assert that all that is required is a U.S. withdrawal from Central Asia for terrorism to cease forget that it did exactly that between 1991 and 2001. The result was Afghanistan being used to launch the most devastating foreign attack on the U.S. in its history. The U.S. has no choice but the ensure that Al Qaeda and its allies are not allowed to plot against it - and Europe - in peace in Afghanistan and Pakistan. If Al Qaeda and its allies are so crazed that  U.S. attacks on them lead them to attack Pakistani civilians who have no animosity towards themn, then Pakistan is going to have to do what is necessary to protect its population, just as the U.S. is protecting its own. I'm sure that Pakistan will be grateful for Russian aid in doing so.
