Over 5,000 people attended at the vigil in Christ the Savior Cathedral in Moscow, the Itar Tass news agency reported, citing the cathedral’s security. Among those present were the country’s leaders.
Russia - We are bombarded by our news medias in the Western World with many words describing Russia. Ironic/contrary to some of these words what actions do we see? The leaders of Russia going with the average person to a beautiful church and attending religous services being broadcast in 16 languages in honoring a Higher Being. Democracy with religous freedom was promised to the Russian people and as it grows we see these amazing events. Religous freedom of good intent is a wonderful thing but there will always be those who try to stop goodness. However as goodness grows it will solidify Russia, and those of bad intent will be easily identifed. As we know from history everything good takes time as it is being built upon a strong foundation. God Bless to all................
I am very disappointed that Mr. Putin & Mr. Medvedev are playing the religion card. This is a very dangerous game to play. Though, it may bring short term benefit, in the long run it will back fire for sure. I have a wish for 21st century that human societies around the world keep a safe distance from religion, and learn from history the devastating effect of religion on the human society. Well as the old saying goes, those who do not learn from the past are sure to repeat it. Unfortunately, all the politicians around the world with the exception of China and Europe are playing religion card now.

Happy Easter to the RT staff and to all the readers of RT. Easter has always been the most joyful holiday in our family. I still recall the day of my youth when my mother had spent hours decorating the Easter eggs and placing them carefully into a wicker basket. She laid the basket momentarily on a chair to place a tablecloth on the table. I stormed into the house and sat on the eggs. In my home, Christmas was "Estonian" with Estonian foods like verevorstid and happukapsad; however, Easter was always "Russian", because my mother would not have it any other way. Happy Easter to you all.
