RIDICULOUS of course it has a religious base if these were predominantly Christian land they wouldn’t be having this problem. I guess you should just forget these terrorists groups in Russia and the Balkans get support from the Arab media and countries through front charity organisations financial, military hardware and open recruitment of fighters as well as in Europe openly recruiting from mosques to fight in Chechnya and other places like Bosnia and Kashmir. They have been coming into Russia since 91 in Dagestan and training Chechens in Turkey and Bosnia since 92 and Saudi funded mosques and NGO in US and Europe teach this radical Wahabbi teachings to Muslims in Russia. And our Muslim friends in Bosnia and Chechnya who we helped train and support to wage war and terror on Orthodox Serbs and Russians have returned the favour and fought against our occupation forces in Iraq. “A half-hour long film about a Muslim sniper who is killing American soldiers in Iraq is being shown in Bosnia, reports Bosnian Muslim television.” “The DVD also says that Bosnian Muslim Jihad veterans from the notorious Bosnian Muslim Army unit El Mujaheed are also volunteers among the Jihadists in Iraq that are killing the Americans.” “British forces in the Gulf during the initial phase of the fighting were finding Chechen bodies among the fanatics fighting along Saddam Hussein’s troops. A number of the foreign fighters confronting our troops in Basra have turned out to be Chechens.” Haven’t heard of any Christian suicide bombers You can’t deal with the issue unless to name the root cause of the problem that being global Islam and support for radical forces and terrorist groups around the world especially in Russia.

What are those "Muslim extremists" going to do when we in the USA turn off the dollar spigot? I just read some of Sibel Edmonds testimony where she stated USA supported Al Qaeda in the Balkans until right before 9-11. (She is ex-FBI and was legally gagged for 3 years, but had to give testimony this year in a civil suit. Her testimony was publicly released just this month.) Aren't we also supporting similar wacky groups in the Caucasus? That so-called "religious" aspect of terrorism will subside pretty quickly if they aren't getting money from foreigners. I think Medvedev has the right idea - show the young that there is an alternative to joining the so-called jihad. It is one of the tools for combating terrorism, but not the only one. He earlier said the cycle of poverty in the Caucasus was another cause, and that has to be dealt with, too. The authorities cannot deal with terrorism just by blowing bandits' heads off - it has to be done with multiple strategies - carrot AND stick. Also, if the Christians are worried about Muslims getting too much TV time, maybe they should start up their own TV channel.

+1 because of political correctness Islam isnt a problem. Koran has some passages which muslims act as if werent and others try not to see them.( if you dare speak about it youre already commiting crime and some will even threaten your life) Then extremists come and just follow whats written there. Some theologists say, that islam is just an upgrade of arian heresy. Islam is an aggressive religion, west will be overrun by them or in the name of national survival they will expel them. While islam promotes aggression against infidel, american liberalism wants freedom to the state of anarchy and consumerism, ´democracy´, games as a religion. Neither are good for stability, peace long term.

@ johnx What do you think about "proxy bombs" used by IRA in Ireland??? Isn't it the same or even worse???

Found a brilliant article with good references and info saying what I have said that the US, Turkey and others beginning in 79 have since and the fall of Communism been training and promoting Islamic militants in the Balkans, Chechnya, Central Asia and China so the US and EU can have control of future Eurasian oil and gas reserves to Europe as outlined in Brezinski’s book The Grand Chessboard. http://www.dailykos.com/story/2008/7/15/551916/-Sibel-Edmonds-Case:-The-Central-Asia- @European I don't know what you talking about "proxy bombs" in Ireland by IRA I don't think you can compare these guys to the IRA who are no ware near as ruthless and didn't intend to ethnic cleanse native Brits or non-aligned people from Ireland, use it as a criminal base and organised crime centre of British organised crime, kidnap and murder British civilians import drugs and traffic British girls in international sex slavery and were not trained and trying to produce chemical and biological weapons. And the IRA usually called in a warning to police before carrying out a terrorist attack to avoid negative publicity. You should read Paul Murphy’s book Wolves of Islam to know the full extent of this thing and the consequences it could have 9/11 and Madrid had substantial connections to Chechnya and Bosnia as well as other major averted terror attacks not mentioned in the news. And western powers, Turkish and Middle East allies are using the Caucusas and the Chechen conflict which the covertly engineered and started 2 years prior to the first war in 92 as a launching pad to destabilise and Balkanise the Caucusas region maybe even Russia itself. The outrageous strategy to destroy Russia http://www.voltairenet.org/article30038.html

@MEJanssen Sidel Edwards is revealing lots of good info like Turkey training terrorists including some 9/11 hijackers, criminal dealings with US and Turkish intelligence, corruption and bribery in US politics and that the use worked and used Bin Laden and the Taliban as proxies up until 9/11. As I understand the mass media is ignored her. Hopefully RT will interview her.

It is very important to support the religious leaders in these troubled parts of Russia. For their's is the most difficult task. They understand the complexity of problems: poverty, ignorance, traditional social structures, influence of foreign money. They also need to get some real support. Crafting a better education and employment support cannot work unless it is carefully calibrated to the needs of specific communities. It takes very little cash to attact a young, unemployed youth. And their lack of experience in life makes them especially vulnerable to the religion-based motivation fostered by their gang leaders. Many have commented on the breadth of the "global islam", and its tentacles. As someone who has seen the ravages of war in Balkans, I know what imported fanatics can do. But I have also learned that appearances are deceiving, and that unless one understands the strings that control the puppets, one is likely to remain ignorant and frustrated. Let us agree on one thing: people of any religion do not just take-off, leave their families to start a crusade/jihad. The plane tickets, destination accommodations, visas, arms and ammunition, the communication devices, food, clothes, vehicles and gas, do not come from Allah. These are all supplied by men, and not just any men. These types of logistics can only come from governments on the sending and the receiving end.

And no reference to governments that manage wars by proxy would be fair without enumerating at least some types of involvement in this production line. First, there are the financiers. Those are the governments or affiliated elites and instituions that allocate money. Then there are the "organizers". Those usually behind the scene define how many, what type, and for what project the jihad-for-hire is needed. Then there are those governments that do the recruiting. Some recruits are from colleges and are tapped by the intelligence services. More often then not, they are recriuted via blackmail. Then there are uneducated recrutis. Streets of European cities are full of angry young men, who are usually recruited at their mosques. For those who believe that the immams at those mosques were doing this business on their own, dream on! They did it for some money and because they had to. Then there are recruits coming from the armies of unemployed in Saudi Arabia or Pakistan by "reforming" troublemakers through a life of "selfless, religious sacrifice". Al-Qaeda was created by the financing from some of the wealthiest families in Saudi Arabia, and on behest of a distinguished friend, and included in the package were young, capable organizers to kick it off. Pakistan used Saudi money to start thousands of schools (madrassas) to recruit the kids of the poor (Taliban), but instead of giving them education, they were trained to fight. After they sucessfully conquered Afghanistan, they morphed into an uncontrollable asset. Interesting is the role of Iran, briefly. During the Presidency of Khatami and Rafsanjani, Iran developed ties to Western intelligence, and tried to gain a back-door relationships by funding some jihad-for-hire projects in Bosnia and Chechnya. Notable transit routes included Turkey, Georgia, Albania and Croatia, to name a few.

"... This programme must include educational elements as well as measures to help these people to find work,” Medvedev said." .... Muslims must not be painted with the same brush was also said. There is only one way to teach young people how to reprogram their self esteem: via the arts. It is a self image problem. There is only one frame of reference and it is the BRAND terror or call it the globalISM to keep humanity in the 17th Century idea of beasts of burden and not human beings. Teach the young people how to SEE the BRANDS which have been sold since the beginning of time and the integral thread of the brands sold is always about SELF HATE. Once the young people are allowed to do creative visualization, wherein the INNER EYE can see the outer world for what it is - be in it but not of it. Creative visualization, movement and the fine arts are what young people (children) are all about - they are creative geniuses waiting for the frame of reference to co-create our future world. Medvedev has the idea (Socrates said there is only this, the idea) about it -- education. A constant stream of educating the young mind about how NATURAL the world actually is rather than the ARTIFICIAL reality being forced into the hearts and minds of our humanity: Carrie Dann grandmother of the Western Shoshone said we must think seven generations ahead. QUESTION THE UNNATURAL, this is what must be taught to the young and undeveloped mind. Look at this planet and we can see that the forced technological advancement without the emotional quotient to handle this power has not progressed the human spirit. Life on earth is about our spiritual journey and this cannot be a UNIVERSAL BRAND anymore than nature on this planet can be just one BIG BRAND looking like the same horrible mess of technological gobbblygook everywhere with our future children wandering aimlessly in search of the soul called human being.
