If the financial analyst, William Enddahl is correct that German Chancellor Ms Merkel is working hard to salvage the value of euros- which is under orchestrated attack from the U.S, then, it can be said that Russia, on the other hand, is build this giant underwater pipeline to ensure an uninterrupted energy supply to Europe and to Germany in particular! So who is the real strategic partner of Europe, the U.S or Russia? Economic relations between Russia and Europe shows it is Russia that is helping Europe. So why does Russia need to to come under U.S umbrella of military protection? Russia has the capability to undertake bold initiatives such as Nord Stream. One cannot help but admire them Russian! They do not just talk; they act in bold ways. Ukraine will still be important to Russia with the new longer term lease with the Black Fleet but Western Europe can very soon enjoy access to uninterrupted supply of Russian gas. It is great to see that two great powers, Germany and Russia, working so closely. The U.S is not doing anything like Nord Stream for Europe. The Nord Stream is probably the boldest engineering project of its kind. It is remarkable project at the edge of Utopian dream; thousands of steel tubes under the Baltic Sea!
