This was a despicable terrorist act that we had to deal with and we must always remember the evil of terrorism and fight against it. Our security services have to deal with horrific terrorist situations, none more so than in this case, where they must engage their clients whilst civilians are in the line of fire and under additional threat from explosives. However, we must also always look to continual improvement. The front end did superbly well planning, engaging and terminating the threats effectively and efficiently. It was an excellent performance. However, we did fail on the back end, and that was rendering assistance to incapacitated civilians. We need medical teams that could have operated close in, we also needed them briefed and prepared for what they would face. Like many, we had the military perspective sown up. What we need to improve is our medical support for these operations. Spetz against these fanatical people was always going to be a walk over, but we needed look after the immediate aftermath, and we lost time here, and this cost us lives, innocent lives and that's a real shame. Let's lean from it! We hope it never happens again, but regardless we need be prepared. My heart goes out to the innocent people who lost their lives in this monstrous act. To the perpetrators, you will never beat us Russians, for we save our soul !
