I certainly don't support it. This is the nonsense that lead to the collapse of the Soviet Union. They are spending time on nonsense things as one word in the National Anthem. And to deny the Orthodox Church being the Main and guiding religion of our land would be turning a blind eye to all of Russian history. Yes, we have more than one religion, but all these religions respect the one and same God, but in different ways. God offends no one, but politicians. Nobody forgets their evil they committed upon the church here.

The communist have no case. Historians noted that during the height of the battle in WWII, Stalin eased his suppression of religious feelings and practice in Russia and that helped the moral of the soldiers and their will to fight and die in the defense of the Motherland. Religiou freedom had also helped the whole society. The modern Russia has many religious faiths. Still, the reference to God in the national anthem will cause no harm to those who do not believe in God. God is in O Canada and the U.S anthem as well. The symbolic reference to God in the Canadian national anthem causes no harm to those who do not believe in God. In the same way, reference to God in the Russian national them will cause no harm to anybody. The communists need to focus on solving real social problems.

I agree with you Artyom, it is none sense. I hope that the Communist party will stop and listen to what they are saying, and may want to reconsider of making the same mistake that the Soviet Union made. Like Artyom said, "Yes, we have more than one religion, but all these religions respect the one and same God, but in different ways". It is very important to have someone like God that when we are in a great disaster we can always turn to Him. And even though some people don't believe in a god, it is still important to respect those people who at least believe in someone.

Let the COMMUNISTS compose their own little song and go to the south pole to sing it. The Russian people have suffered enough. Let the Russian people have their churches and religion without communist interference.

I think it's good. My country for example, doesn't have mention about god in the anthem, and today we are only working to remove religious images or references from the public buildings (we are a secular state). The National Symbols must be secular.
