I just want to express my solidarity with the Russian People at this difficult time. If there is an issue that unites the non Islam world, it is the cowardly terror this religion has spawned. These people are nothing more than common criminals, and should be treated accordingly.

It is a shame that young people should feel they have no future and the only thing open to them is crime and terrorism. I hope the president's program on improving the economy of the North Caucasus region begins to return positive results, and soon.

@MEJanssen. I do not think any economic problem is the reason they are blowing themselves and others up. I would say it has more to do with fanaticism, extremism and in this case revenge.Young minds are an open book on which anyone can write. The government should ensure they root out and destroy the wrong type of writers.

@ Sam, I agree in part: there will always be somebody who becomes a terrorist because he/she is a fanatic. However, some of the people who blow themselves up act out of desperation, and they often hesitate to pull the trigger so another person has to be nearby to send a radio signal. The Russian government is very good at brutally putting down terrorists, but they also want to minimize the conditions that drive people to desperate acts. I noticed that the plan Medvedev promoted, and I think Putin started the same toward the end of his term, was to improve the economy in the North Caucasus _as_well_as_ exterminating the killers. Using just one tool will not cure the problem - they would only be playing "whack-a-mole" by exterminating one group while another pops up in another republic. Good luck and God's help to them. It is going to take a long time to calm the Caucasus, and there will still be outsiders trying to stir up trouble in the region for years to come.

Just find isolated people to blame- and for other things, and you are doing a great job fighting terrorism and crime. I understand the argument of the desperate person, usually isolated somehow, whether a label or true minority population of anysort. I must say that other people are just going to use it to get what they want and make the desperate more desperate. Person A was driven to crime, the crime of trespassing a dumpster. Person B used that argument to get what he wanted.

You some of you suggested to treat terroriss better, just give them "more candies" so to speak and the problem will go away... it is same sort of people those terrorists - very young, do not value their own or anybody else's life, uneducated, stupid, craving attention, and UTTERLY CONFUSED. They are beyond help, thus need to be irradicated - swiftly and efficiently. There is no alternative to terrorism. Only one solution - irradication!
