Defence officials say there's no truth in claims that Moscow is planning to sell Iran Russian-made S-300 anti-aircraft missile systems.

The Federal Agency overseeing Military and Technical Co-operation issued the denial on its website.  In a brief online statement, the agency said the issue is not on the agenda and is not being discussed with Tehran.

However, it says Russia continues to co-operate with Iran in military and technical fields, in full compliance with international rules.

On Wednesday, Iranian Defence Minister Mostafa Mohammad Najjar said that Russia could start selling the S-300 missile systems to Iran soon.

According to him, the contract for the system was signed a few years ago.

I think Russia should sell these weapons to Iran. Iran has not attacked any other nation in 300 years and has only conducted defensive wars. However they are continually being threatened by the two most predatory nations on earth, America and Israel, who are continually having wars of agression. The Americans almost voted a homicidal nutcase into office who thought it was funny to sing Bomb bomb bomb, bomb bomb Iran! to the tune of Barabara Ann. The Israelis have voted in a bunch of homicidal nutcases into power, namely Netanyahu and Lieberman. After all the S300 is a defensive weapon and would be good to discourage predators but no good for attacking other people.
