This is the dawn of the 21st century - is this military armament escalation really necessary? Besides, if the U.S.were going to attack Beijing, we would launch from our "secret" nuclear warhead satellites in space. Those S-300s are useless against them.

Great, now how about the Iranian order for crying out loud! Stop procrastinating. They need it more than the Chinese.

Nuclear warhead in space? i think you misunderstood ICBMs from space weapons, the USA do not have any weapons in space, get off your star wars pony, there's quite a few countries in the world with ICBMs and most of them are able to hit the USA including China. What these weapons will do is to enhance Chinese defense against conventional warfare like Aircraft strikes, not a defense against ICBMs. USA have none themselves.

Russia and China are at front line in the fight for multipolar world-for world with more justice, respect for international law and rights for every states...I salute to any cooperation among states who like to live and let others to live in peace in this crazy world of ours where some powers do not please God comands.S-300 is the best kind of sistem in the world-it come in service 1979-it can shoot also short Nuclear missiles...I will not say what are s-400(5 killometers plus per second) or s-500 who are in service in Russia now(for shooting EVERITHING what flies-IBM to-up to 3500 kilommetars away-with 100% rate)...Russian rockets and engines are 20 plus years infront anyone!Usa use Russians engines for 25 plus years on their rockets and planing to bay also 10 from Russia for space exploration(same engines on Soyuz- 40 plus years old)..S-300 Usa try to bay long time ago, but Russia did not want so sell(do research)! In my opinion Iran will get s-300 also.. Also in the name of true history facts: Russian Army free all China from Japanize in WW2 and also stop Usa droping nukes on China(do reasearch) in Korean war!Russia remain no.1 garant of peace, stability and HOPE for all peaceful world..Thanke you!

Tomatoville Just to let you know that the chinese already have the technology to intercept ICBM'S.This was proven a little over two years ago when they shot down and destroyed thier own spy satillite (It had fallen out of its orbit and they did not want the information to end up in the wrong hands). It's kinda funny at the time when this was done the USA and some other western countries denounced such a action however the USA did the exact same thing from a battleship in the pacific. When they did it .....it was barley even mentioned.I do believe Russia is obligated to deliver the S-300 system to the Iranians not because I am pro this and anti that but more to do with the contract itself as well as the fact it clearly falls under the defensive weapons category making it not part of the recent UN mandate.Lets face the facts here some are allowed to violate UN mandates ie 1701 for what 30 years now almost with no such sactions....Whats the difference....OIL......Pakistan ...India....no sactions either ..You just need to ask why that is....

I don't know what version of S-300 chinese are buying, S-300 Antley has 40 km range for ballistic missiles and can protect against 2500 km range missiles. china doesn't have any ABM system against ICBMS. shooting a low orbit satellite is less complex then shooting a maneuvering ICBM. so they don't have protection against US ICBMS and Indian IRBMs. Soviets and chinese were almost at war in late sixties. chinese also copy and create inferior copies of Russian weapons and eating up Russian arms market. chinese are not friend of any one. so don't advocate chinese.

I hope the Russians don't mind that these S-300s will be reverse engineered and domestically produced....
