Militant leader killed in Southern Russia

A special services operation in Dagestan has resulted in the elimination of a militant leader and the death of one officer. Two more policemen were also injured in the operation.

Jamaludin Javatov was on the wanted list for being connected to terrorist activities and attempts on the lives of police officers, informed local Interior Ministry aide Magomed Ismailov.

An operation to eliminate the rest of the group is still ongoing in the east of the republic.
