Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has said he is not ruling out the possibility of taking part in the 2012 presidential election. The statement was made at a meeting of the Valdai discussion club.
I think that Medvedev's should run for his second terms as president. First, he becomes president. Medvedev's got the ability to handle the economic crisis. Russia people will know how their president Medvedev's has vision and how to get out from this global economic downturn. I agree with what Medvedev said about moderation of Russia Federation. It is a good vision to start because it might bring Russian people go back to work. I know that Russian Federation will get out from this global downturn. I personally like Russia president Medvedev's. He has his own styles. Everytime i saw him on the news; his face is always smile. That is what i like about Mr. Medvedev's. I think that Russia people give second time for Mr. Medvedev to become Russia president in 2012.
I agree with you MEJanseen- Main thing is there will not be any rivalty among those two great leaders! Who will take wich place is not important. They will sort among them who will take wich place in the best intrest of Russia! All Russian diplomatic tim are great and under one umbrela-united to work for better future for state and people.Indeed mr.Medvedev and mr.Putin done a great job. Both leaders are verry popular and i think they will stay in power for a long time....Russia is lucky to have such leaders, I wish them all the best
Good Ridings! Both President Medvedev and Prime Minister Putin or vice-versa are men of very high intergrity and I am very sure they will undoubtlessly come up with a decision to make Russia and russians proud.
Politics has a way of surprizing everyone. It is far too early to speculate on what will happen in 2012 or in the time between now and then. These two leaders are a dynamic duo. Both are highly qualified and professional. I would like to see P. M. Putin go on to be the Secretary General of the United Nations. His talents and accomplishments would go well in that organization.

If Medvedev's first term works out OK with Putin as Number Two, then why shouldn't they try again in 2012? They have to prove their worth to the Russian people, so let's see what happens by the end of 2011. If the people vote for Medvedev again, it will probably be with the understanding that they get Putin again as part of the package. Putin said he would not compete against Medvedev, so coming back again as Prime Minister would fit that promise.
